Ok, for people who claim auras to correspond to ROYGBIV and the seven main chakras with different emotions, etc... I'll believe it when I see it. For now, I'll say it's new age pop-spiritualist bullshit.
What I have noticed, however, is that I see my own aura all the time. It's most visible at night when I only have very dim lighting like a television or night light on. It's very noticeable when I smoke a cigarette or reach for something in dim lighting because it will "trail" when I move my arm. It looks like a wispy, bluish-silver outline, usually about one centimeter above the physical body. During the daylight hours, it looks more clear, like a mirage on hot pavement or gasoline fumes. The same goes for other people's auras: it's just a clear/silver outline of their bodies.
Interestingly, when I move my hands together and then pull them apart, it looks like the aura of the left hand is dark grey/black, and the right hand is whitish silver with a tinge of blue. I think this has something to do with lunar/solar channels (ida/pingala nadis). I know the Vedas and tantras describe several different types of subtle "airs" in the body - it's not all 'prana'.
Anyone ever experience something like this?
Also, many texts on subtle anatomy and metaphysics are still not available in English. Does anyone know any good translations of Sanskrit texts in English? I hate how Swami Prabhavananda fucked up Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. "All is god, you are god...blasphemy." Patanjali worshipped Vishnu, and believed all souls are separate and subservient to Vishnu, despite their eternal nature. Dickhead Prabhavananda translates the words and provides commentary that is very impersonalistic (nirvisheshavadi) and voidist (shunyavadi).
