Thread: My aura is visible.

    My aura is visible.

Ok, for people who claim auras to correspond to ROYGBIV and the seven main chakras with different emotions, etc... I'll believe it when I see it. For now, I'll say it's new age pop-spiritualist bullshit.

What I have noticed, however, is that I see my own aura all the time. It's most visible at night when I only have very dim lighting like a television or night light on. It's very noticeable when I smoke a cigarette or reach for something in dim lighting because it will "trail" when I move my arm. It looks like a wispy, bluish-silver outline, usually about one centimeter above the physical body. During the daylight hours, it looks more clear, like a mirage on hot pavement or gasoline fumes. The same goes for other people's auras: it's just a clear/silver outline of their bodies.

Interestingly, when I move my hands together and then pull them apart, it looks like the aura of the left hand is dark grey/black, and the right hand is whitish silver with a tinge of blue. I think this has something to do with lunar/solar channels (ida/pingala nadis). I know the Vedas and tantras describe several different types of subtle "airs" in the body - it's not all 'prana'.

Anyone ever experience something like this?

Also, many texts on subtle anatomy and metaphysics are still not available in English. Does anyone know any good translations of Sanskrit texts in English? I hate how Swami Prabhavananda fucked up Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. "All is god, you are god...blasphemy." Patanjali worshipped Vishnu, and believed all souls are separate and subservient to Vishnu, despite their eternal nature. Dickhead Prabhavananda translates the words and provides commentary that is very impersonalistic (nirvisheshavadi) and voidist (shunyavadi).

That thing with your left hand. That sounds like a misfire or miscommunication between your brains right hemisphere to the optic nerve of your left eye. You may want to consider a CAT scan. I'm no doctor but that could be serious. I don't believe the aura stuff so you could be experiencing some issues. Hopefully nothing. Could just be you being you

You're shortsighted and everything including your body has an aura.

I would have taken pics, Mr. Hansen, but I just lost my phone the other day, and it was my only camera. As for drugs, I smoke weed. Haven't done shrooms in years. Riv3r, what could be serious about it? BTW, it's NOT A TUMOR!!! [/arnold]

edit: seriously though, it could be a tumor. I've taken over 20 different psychotropics, including risperdal, which can cause tumors. Maybe I could sue the company and get Oprah-rich. I doubt it, but it would be awesome.

^This^ seems far more likely to be your culprit then you "seeing your aura"; which of course leads to the larger discussion as to whether or not drugs just "unlock" parts of your brain. Personally I don't buy into new-wave religion and the healing power of crystals and auras. Drugs change brain chemistry, usually it's either temporary or is repairable, but sometimes it isn't. While it might be a tumor I'd think it far more likely that some of your neurons are firing differently than before and this is causing your visual cortex to interpret those signals in a divergent manner. Also you mention dim lighting as a catalyst for these visions. As your eyes would have less light to process shapes and colors it would in turn enhance whatever visual phenomena you are currently seeing.

well if something that you are seeing is happening only to one side of you and not the other then it's possible that your hemispheres are not communicating correctly which could be a precursor to other symptoms. Your brain is not something to be taken lightly. But, again, it's also very possible that it's nothing.

Honestly I think that people seeing "Auras" referring to the colored auras that are supposed to be representative of who you are honestly just Hallucinatory representations of body language and impressions. In your case, I would suggest you see your doctor though.

    Placebo effect.

I think auras are real, they are not physically visible, they are the feelings you get when you meet a person for the first time.

Whenever you meet someone new and you get that feeling that they are trusting, cool, or bad news.

I'm pretty sure animals have a stronger ability to sense this.

Aura's aren't something you can see, they are your involuntary self-projections of who you really are inside.

If you take certain drugs, it infact evolves the consciousness, giving the person the ability to see "auras" , however this is also achievable with meditation. Think about it, tribal elders have used drugs in ceremonies for thousands of years to "talk to the Gods" , "see things other people can't" , you must ritually take "drugs" in order to see peoples auras, to become "evolved"

I would go as far as to say that smoking cannibis evolves the mind on the subtle plane (astral, mental, emotional, etc) , if you think about it.

I've witnessed a similar phenomenon. Have you activated your "third eye" or pineal gland? I'm not a fan of most new age philosophy either, but there is definitely a physical occurrence here.

Engaging someone in conversation on the forum who hasn't posted in months is fairly pointless. All you accomplish is necrobumping a pointless thread.
