Removing (rectangular) Ink tags and Magnetic alarm tags

This stuff is pretty simple and straight forward. After working at Pacsun when I was like 17 I noticed this girl who used to come in and steal our clothing all the time. She was black and always pulled the race card whenever she was caught so we just quit bothering with stopping her. She never once set off our alarm. We knew she stole because each one of us had witnessed her doing so. Removing the sensor, price tags and stuffing the item into her over sized purse or handbag, what have you.

ANYWAYS, all you do is take your first finger and middle finger and bend the edges of the "rectangle" down with one hand as you pull the pin away with you're second hand. I don't condone this but I thought it was kind of neat to share.

    Makeshift Diagram:

They have made changes to some tags but the ones I still see around here work very well. Shown below as tan.

    ...................... |-------|-------|
    Pressure point > |------pIn-------| < Pressure point
    ...................... |-------|-------|

Pressure Points: Bend both points upward away from pin and it will cause the sensor to release the pin and detach. Congrats... You have successfully stolen some sort of article of clothing.

For the ones with actual ink, you can put them in a freezer then rip it off with pliers. I did this because I bought a pair of golf shoes at a clearance sale and they forgot to take the tag off.
Its good general knowledge especially if the cashier forgets to take off the tag.. but stealing clothes is stupid, I hope no one actually does this.
The degree of civilization in a society can be judged by entering its prisons.

hmm, that is a pretty good idea for the ink tags. good find

Another idea is carry some wire cutters. This is a little more invasive but, hey, it should work. I stress should as I have not tried it. The pin is a couple millimeters in width so it seems logical

And then no-one posted in this thread ever again.

But seriously, if you were really concerned about getting away with this, go with a buddy. Give them the magnetic tag, and have them walk about about 15 seconds before you do. The alarm goes off, and everyone's attention goes to him/her. Then, while the store employees are preoccupied, rape and pillage.
