How to Make a bomb from household items

This thread is purely for informational use. Do not do anything illegal with this information. This guide will show you a few ways you can make a bomb out of items easily found in most houses. If your house doesn't have these a trip to home depot or wal mart should make up for that.

Acetone Peroxide
Acetone Peroxide is an explosive made with 2 easy to get ingredients. Be careful doing this because AP is a highly volatile and unpredictable.

Chemicals needed
Acetone
Hydrogen Peroxide
Muriatic Acid (If you don't have this around go to a pool store)

Items needed
2 Glass Jars
Measuring cup
Old T shirt or rag

How to make it
1-First you wan't to Measure out 650mL of Acetone.
2-Now Measure out 1000 ml of Hydrogen peroxide.
3-Put both of these in a jar stir and mix them together well.
4-Put this mixture in your freezer for about 5 minutes.
5-Get your second jar and measure out 500 mL muriatic acid.
6-Cover the jar and put it in the freezer for an hour or 2.
7-Once you take it out mix this and the hydrogen peroxide/Acetone mixture together.
8-Put this new mixture in the freezer for 24 hours and you should see a white substance at the bottom of the jar. This is the AP.

Molotov Cocktail
The Molotov cocktail is an extremely easy to make incendiary device you can make at home.

What you need
1-Glass bottle
2-A rag
3-Gasoline
4-Motor oil
5-Styrofoam (Optional)

How to make it
1-Fill the glass bottle half way with gasoline.
2-Fill 25% of the bottle with Motor oil
3-If you have the Styrofoam you can add this to the mixture as a thickening agent. This will cause it to stick to whatever you threw it at and it will make it burn longer.
4-Tie a rag or other piece of cloth around the neck of the bottle.
5-Soak the rag in gasoline of kerosene and throw it.

Sparkler Bomb
Even though you may not have sparklers laying around they are easily found and dirt cheap. For this one all you need to do is a buy a lot of sparklers. The more you buy obviously the bigger the explosion will be.

Wrap the sparklers together tightly with electrical tape. As a fuse you can use another sparkler that is sticking out of the bomb. The more safe way is to just go and get some cannon fuse. Light this and it will blow up.

Pipe Bomb
Get a section of metal water pipe, about 1/2 inch around and 6 inches long.
Get two metal caps that are sized to fit that pipe. These are easily
acquired in most hardware stores.

Drill a hole, about 1/16 inch in diameter, in the center of the pipe this is where the fuse will go. Screw one of the caps onto the pipe. Then you want to run the fuse through the pipe. After that what you want to do is take the black powder or other explosive and fill the pipe with it. You can also add nails or other objects for extra shrapnel. Once you've done this put the other cap onto the end of the pipe and you're ready to go.

Works Bomb
The works bomb isn't really that lethal but it's extremely simple to make and can be fun. All you need is some tin foil and some works toilet cleaner. You will also need a bottle of some kind. Thicker bottles such as a Gatorade one will make a louder explosion. All you have to do is cut the foil into strips and put them in the bottle. Then add enough works cleaner equal to the foil. Shake it and throw it. It can take up to a minute to explode but when you see white smoke forming in the bottle you know it's working.

As far as I know there isn't any way to make AP more stable but if your careful with it you shouldn't have any problems.

Yeah water is the best way to transport AP, other than not transporting it. Even a solvent would be fine, as it will evaporate faster when you need it. Obviously avoid open flames..
As for the guides; it should be said they're very simplified. Incase anyone actually was to make these someday.(not that any of us would ever actually manufacture explosives)
Temperatures need to be pretty closely regulated when you're making AP especially. The chemical reaction produces a lot of heat on its own, and if it gets too hot you have something extremely unstable on your hands. THIS STUFF IS DANDEROUS.. just saying. I forget exact temperature ranges to control both stability, and the highest yeild for your work.. but they can easily be found with a good search engine.

One of the reasons AP is dangerous and readily reacts with its environment is because the end product usually contains traces of the acids used to make it.
AP can be somewhat stabilized via neutralization of the acids.
Another reason TATP (AP, Acetone Peroxide, C9H18O6, Triacetone Triperoxide, Peroxyacetone, TCAP) can be a dangerous chemical to utilize is the accidental creation of the dimer form (C6H12O4), instead of the desired trimer form (C9H18O6). This occurs more readily when the reaction is allowed to reach temperatures above 15 degrees centigrade. The dimer form is undesirable because it is much more sensitive to shock, heat, friction, and produces less energy per unit.



Neutralization of Acids in AP

Reactants:
Acetone Peroxide (AP)
Distilled water
Baking soda

Equipment:
Coffee filter
Jar (several)

Start by dissolving as much baking soda as possible in a jar of distilled water.
Take your dried product (AP) and add it to the jar, it will fizz a little.
After the fizzing stops pour the mixture through a coffee filter, and discard the liquid.
Re-dry the AP and store it in a jar filled with water. AP can be stored for a couple of weeks in this fashion, but I wouldn't trust it for long after that.

It's a really bad idea to make a batch of AP that large. Primaries in general should only be made in small quantities.

It should also be noted to add the acid very slowly with an eyedropper and have the reaction container in an ice bath. As CataclysmicDysfunction posted above, the product becomes more sensitive when the temperature of the synth is allowed to rise above 15C. The mixture will heat up without an ice bath.

another nice little thing you can do with sparklers is to take all the powder off the sticks put it in a tin or maby wrap in tinfoil along with some soda/whiped cream bulbs or even a aerosol can or 2 then add a fuse... this will make a bigger explosion just be careful and after you light the fuse make sure you keep your distance...

Baking Soda / Vinegar Bomb

What you need
1- a small cheap soft drinks bottle, e.g. Mountain Dew bottle
2- Baking Soda
3- Vinegar
4- Food colouring (note: only to change the colour of the foam, it wont actually affect the explosion....)

How to make it

this is just a little kids way to make a cheap explosive, first measure out about quarter bottle of vinegar and put a decent amount of food colouring in, then you need to quick to put the baking soda in, screw the lid on and shake it before throwing, you dont need to shake as it automatically fizzes up


Coloured Smoke Bomb
What you need
1- Food Colouring / Ground up coloured chalk works too
2- Baby powder / talcom powder, whatever its called
3- Tin foil
4- a cup or something to mix it up...
(OPTIONAL) 5-Dried Leaves or twigs
6- a Cigarette Lighter (or matches if your a wuss)
How to make it

mix up about a handful of B. Powder and about 5ml of food colouring or just another handful of ground chalk and tip it out into a large-ish piece of tinfoil bout 20x20 (cm) and then roll/wrap it up to make a small ball, (note: if you have dried leaves then stick them in as well, it only allows easier lighting!) but leave a small hole and light the mix inside, cover the hole up again and throw/drop it, it should begin to create a weak smokescreen

Homemade RPG

You will need:
1- giant cardboard tube, or something which you can slot a bottle in place without it getting stuck, so basically its loose.
2- a coke cola bottle, small for a weak RPG or a large one for a stronger one, Note: by stronger i mean it should fly further but will weigh alot more and will fall faster.
3- Coke or other extremely fizzy drink
4- Mentos / other chewing gum which takes the form of a tablet like sweet 5- the bottles lid
6- a chair which is welded to the ground, so when it fires you dont get V3CT0Red backwards.
the 6th is a joke, but be sure to stand your ground before launching.
7- Ducktape or other strong tape.

Tactical ways to ensure it flies the furthest:
find a cliff edge and launch it from there, and be sure to aim at a 45 degree angle upwards,
directly up would mean it would spray in your face and then finish you off when it fell back down.
directly down, well it would do anything, just shoot down into the water or bounce off the ground and hit you in the face.



How to make

put the coke into the bottle, or just dont tip it out anyway, you need to empty some of it to allow room for the mentos
then put
the mentos onto the tape and then hang it down inside the bottle (you need to cut it thin enough to put into the bottle, then put the lid back on, you could make multiple RPGs for multiple shots.
then when your ready aim the tube at the desired angle/direction and shake up the bottle, then quickly slide it so the lid end is facing down the tube and hold on tight...


if done correctly:
1) the bottle should be like mount vesuvius and the lid should launch off, the bottle shooting off into the atmosphere, while it rains coke down in your face lol.
2) it should continue flying as long as there is a efficient amount of coke and mentos left in the bottle.

if done wrong:
1) either the bottle doesnt fizz up at all and you turn around and see that
A) theres no coke in the bottle
or
B) you forgot the mentos
or
C) you didnt put the lid on and you have wet feet

2) or the lid launches off and the tube is pulled along with it or your pulled along with it, which may be that you missread the above and you ducktaped the bottle, the tube and your hands all together.

2. Roll of duct tape (quality variety, not some Wal-mart nigger tape)

6. Be sure you have a good fuse on that dynomite.
7. Chuck the bomb.
8. Haul ass.

you should point out that it is the step of screwing on the end cap of the pipe bomb that is the most dangerous because the friction of the threads tightening against each other will cause the who bomb to ignite in your hands even if one speck of black powder is hiding there. To reduce this risk you should first brush off the threads and then apply silicone tape from the plumbing section to the threads on the pipe. or just don't do it at all... that of course is the safest course of action

First this is a really bad idea for anyone to try. It results in the extra acid that hasn't reacted being thrown everywhere. A much safer version is dry ice or Diet Coke and Mentos.

Yes it does produce hydrogen gas. Some people incorrectly think it creates chlorine gas. Most metals react with Hydrochloric Acid and will displace hydrogen and create a chlorate.

The chemical reaction is 2Al + 6HCl --> 2AlCl3 + 3H2.

Any cleaner that containers HCl should work but it's also sold as "Muriatic Acid" at pool supply and hardware stores which is straight HCL in higher concentration.

The PSI I calculated in the post above does not take into account for how much larger the bottle will get. A standard 2L bottle has been known to grow 50-100% in size. One of my former customers blow molded their own bottles. They used the same sized preforms for 1L and 1.5L bottles. Those bottles were strong and you could fill them with water, freeze them, and they would not burst.

This same basic reaction is what I use to etch my circuit boards. I use HCL, H2O2, and Copper to make Copper Chlorate. Most people use Ferric Chloride but Copper Chlorate is very easy to regenerate and reuse.
